Madrid, Gibraltar, & Tangier details

Here's the plan for my last week in Europe: three days in Madrid (one of which might be a side trip to Toledo), then 2 nights and 2-1/2 days at the tip of Spain (Gibraltar, Tarifa, Algeciras) and into Morocco, then back to Madrid for one final night before heading to the airport. Then home!


Fri Nov 18 (Day 63) Madrid

• 0830-1113 AVE 3060 from Barcelona Sants to Madrid Atocha
• Hop on/off bus tour of Madrid
• 1800 back at Alan’s place 

Sat Nov 19 (Day 64) Madrid

• 0900 Prado, Thyssen museums, then walk down Paseo del Prado to Reina Sofia museum
• Metro Atocha to Sol, walk Plaza del Sol to Plaza Mayor to Palacio Real for tour
• 1900 back at Alan’s place 

Sun Nov 20 (Day 65) Madrid

• Day trip to Toledo?

Mon Nov 21 (Day 66) Gibraltar (night in Tarifa)

• 0835-1346 Train from Madrid Atocha to Algeciras Ciudad
• 1400-1445 Bus M-120 from Algeciras Ciudad to La Linea/Gibraltar
• 1445-1945 Gibraltar
• 1945-2030 Bus M-120 from La Linea/Gibraltar to Algeciras
• 2100-2145 Bus M-150 from Algeciras to Tarifa

Tues Nov 22 (Day 67) Tangier (night in Algeciras)

• 0900-0845 FRS ferry from Tarifa to Tangier (minus 1 hour for time zone change)
• 0845-1400 Tangier
• 1400-1545 FRS ferry from Tangier to Tarifa
• 1700-1745 bus M-150 from Tarifa to Algeciras

Wed Nov 23 (Day 68) Madrid

• 0845-1405 Train from Algeciras to Madrid Atocha
• Finish up Madrid as needed 

Thu Nov 24 (Day 69) Fly home

• 0555-0845 fly LH1121 MAD to FRA
• 1010-1405 fly LH440 FRA to IAH 
• Thanksgiving dinner at home!
• 1900 UT vs Texas A&M football
